Seriously one of the best meals of my life (Matera, Italy)
My Review of an Affordable Michelin Restaurant in Matera, Italy
Right smack in the middle of Italy lays a beautiful city that is older than the Romans and also houses these ancient caves. All the restaurants and hotels are built inside these beautiful caves so you can get a unique experience while staying in the city.
Matera - The City of Caves
Nestled in the southern region of Italy, Matera is a city steeped in history and culture. It is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with evidence of settlements dating back to the Paleolithic era. Over time, Matera has evolved into a unique destination known for its stunning cave dwellings.
I had the wonderful opportunity to dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant during my visit, a dream of my boyfriend who insisted on treating me to an unforgettable experience. Situated within a hotel, this restaurant boasts enchanting views. We dined on the terrace, where, in our secluded spot, we found ourselves to be one of the only tables.
I was shocked at how empty it was, but nonetheless, I was excited to eat. Essentially, you choose all the dishes that you want to get and the average price for each dish is 20 euros. Seriously was not that expensive, the price of a salad in America.
Let me tell you, the food was PHENOMENAL.
Here is everything I got:
The chef was also so sweet and gave us these little appetizers and desserts served on this beautiful ceramic tile.
Here is the name of the restaurant, if you decide to visit Matera please go!!
