🎨 The One Museum in Florence You Can’t Skip
Why the it is my must-see (plus how to skip the line and soak in the Botticelli magic)
If you only have time for one museum in Florence, let it be the Uffizi. No question. It’s my absolute favorite. Every time I go back to Florence (which is often), I make sure to walk through those iconic halls again—even if it’s just for an hour.
The Uffizi isn’t just a museum; it’s a full-on experience. You’re literally standing in front of the greatest hits of the Italian Renaissance—Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus, Primavera, da Vinci’s Annunciation, Caravaggio, Michelangelo... the list goes on. It’s overwhelming in the best way.
But what makes it so special to me? It’s the way the gallery tells a story as you move through it—how the rooms shift from Gothic to Renaissance to Baroque like you're time-traveling through centuries of genius. It doesn’t feel stuffy or cold like some museums can. Instead, it feels alive. Personal. I always leave inspired.
If you’re going to visit (and please do), don’t make the rookie mistake of waiting in line. Florence is busy, and Uffizi tickets do sell out—especially in spring and summer. I always recommend grabbing a skip-the-line ticket so you can head straight in and start soaking up the beauty:

Optional add-on? If you can swing it, check out the Vasari Corridor—the secret passageway that connects the Uffizi to the Pitti Palace. It just reopened and it’s SO worth it. You get this totally unique view over the Arno, and the history behind it is wild (think Medici-level drama).
Anyway, if you're headed to Florence, don’t skip the Uffizi. In my opinion, it’s the beating heart of the city.
Have you been? Let me know what your favorite piece was—I’m forever team Botticelli. 💫
Absolutely the only one you cannot skip!!! Going tomorrow for the 4th time and taking the Medici route to the Piti Palace. 😉 It's the first time the Corridor and our stay coincided. We're both on team Botticelli!!
