🇮🇹 The Perfect 2 Days in Rome
Where to eat, what to see, and how to soak up every golden hour in the Eternal City
Rome is one of those places that feels almost too big to tackle in a couple of days—but if you plan it right, you can experience so much of the magic without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
This is exactly how I’d spend 2 days in Rome, combining the classics, slow neighborhood moments, and food that actually tastes like Italy.
✨ Day 1: Ancient Rome, Hidden Corners & Trastevere Nights
☕ Morning: Breakfast
Start your day early at Barnum Café—a favorite for specialty coffee, fresh pastries, and a cozy vibe that feels both local and modern.
(Alternative if you want something extra special: breakfast at the Six Senses Rome, which is stunning but more upscale.)
🏛 Mid-Morning: Ancient Rome
Colosseum Tour – Book a skip-the-line guided tour to see the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill. This way, you’ll get context and avoid long queues.
Walk toward Piazza Venezia afterward, soaking in all the layers of history around you.
Late Morning Snack
Grab a panino at Pane e Salame—tiny, always busy, and absolutely worth it.
🏛 Early Afternoon: Piazza Venezia & Trevi Fountain
Climb the Altare della Patria (Altar of the Fatherland) for panoramic views.
Walk to the Trevi Fountain—it gets crowded midday, but you have to see it at least once.
Detour to the Pantheon—still awe-inspiring after 2,000 years.
🍨 Gelato Break
Stop by Gelateria del Teatro for a treat (try the ricotta + fig or rosemary honey).
🍸 Aperitivo
